ABOUT JENNIFER:

I have always had an interest in the arts. Thankfully I had parents that got me into art camp including a couple of performing art camps when I was young. I later decided that I enjoyed creating art then performing it. In high school I enjoyed studying ceramics and photography. During my college days I had the opportunity to study all the art and later decided to get into more of the web, graphic and new media art. I graduated in 2004 with an General Associate in Art and in February 2008 I received my BA in Visual Communications towards Graphic Design.

I first got into web design while I was going to the University of Maryland by creating a ghost hunting webpage by using tripod which is a free online software. I was later able to learn other techniques by getting into a web design class where I learn Adobe Dreamweaver and Flash. Since I graduated I continued learning how to use Flash and other online software. I also enjoy surfing the internet to see what the new styles of web design and to learn new techniques, software, and layouts.

In my graphic design I focusing on creating work that is inspired by early works of art.  For example I created a Singer’s Sewing Machine Ad to explore the Victorian period by using a carved type like rosewood and hand colored images.  I explored the Art Nouveau movement by creating a Mucha poster on Sarah Bernhardt's performance in Cleopatra.  I used Mucha’s curved lines and unique type font to show the influence of Art Nouveau in my poster.  I also have explored works of art during the World War’s, which includes Typography and Japanese poster.  I cooperated Typographies angles of lines and san serif type; Japanese’s faded color and arrangement of text into some of my artworks.

My current work consist of posters, book covers and web designs.
My audiences are focused on people who enjoy history and early works of art.
